NEW SELECTIONS: THE ERNIE BROENIMAN COLLECTION FOR CONCERT BAND
Music Publishers of America (“MPA”) is pleased to announce the addition of ten new arrangements of music for concert band to the Broeniman Collection in its online store, according to Steve Harris, MPA President. As with previous MPA concert band charts, all of these new selections have been arranged by Ernie Broeniman, founder and current artistic director of Wisconsin’s famed “Dorf Kapelle.” With these additional ten arrangements, the Broeniman Collection now contains over 30 polkas, waltzes and schottisches.
Selections in the Broeniman Collection are fresh arrangements with a modern flair of classic Vitak-Elsnic songs. Vitak-Elsnic Music Company, a division of MPA, holds America’s largest inventory of European-style folk music, with arrangements for concert band, small band, piano and accordion.
“MPA is dedicated to preserving this beautiful music for future generations,” Harris said. “It is a part of America’s musical and cultural heritage.” But MPA wants to do more than simply preserve the music. “We want to introduce a whole new generation of music-lovers and performers to the genre. There’s no better way to do that than to get it played by today’s high school and college bands. These new arrangements make that possible.” In addition to expanded instrumentation that includes virtually all concert band instruments, each chart in the Broeniman Collection contains a full conductor’s score.
